Frequently Asked Questions

Are dogs permitted?

Yes, we allow dogs, but they must be kept on a lead at all times and any mess must be cleaned up promptly and disposed of. Maximum of 2 dogs per booking.

Are campfires allowed?

We do not allow any open fires or fire pits or chimineas. All BBQs to be off the grass and extinguished by 10.30pm.

Is WIFI available?

Yes, Wi-Fi is available but there is a small charge for this. Please ask at reception: £3 per weekend / £5 per week.

Is there a play area?

Sorry we do not have a children’s play area, there is one within walking distance outside Masham.

We do not allow cycling on the site or any ball games: for safety reasons.

What time can we check-in?

All check-ins are after 1.00pm apart from BBQ Cabins which are after 2.30pm.

What time do we have to leave?

Check-out is 11.00am unless late stay has been pre-arranged with booking. BBQ Cabins must be vacated by 10.30am for cleaning purposes.

How many amps are the electricity hook ups?

The hook ups are all 16amps.  The tent hook ups are 10 amps.

Are you open all year round?

No, we are open 1st March to 30th November.

Where is the nearest supermarket?

There is a COOP in Masham which is open 8.00am to 10.00pm. Then there is Morrisons, Sainsburys, and Booths in Ripon which is 9 miles from the site.  There is a Tesco’s at Thirsk, Northallerton and Catterick all within 20 to 30 minutes’ drive from the site.  Along with Aldi in all these towns. There is a small shop on site selling milk, bread, eggs, etc. and other essentials which you may have forgotten.

It the site flat?

The site is a former railway station, so all pitches are on flat level ground.  Some are hardstanding and some grass. You may request a specific pitch, but we cannot guarantee it due to other bookings.

What facilities are available?

We have a large heated toilet/shower block. We also have disabled wet-room/WC.  There are laundry facilities available.

Does tariff include electricity?

The tariff does include electric for caravans and motorhomes, although pitches are on meters.  If you use an excessive amount you may be asked to pay for more. £4.50 per night is allowed.

Do tent pitches have electricity?

There are limited hook ups for tents and these are charged on meters: Simply pay for what you use. Hook ups for tents must be pre-booked to avoid disappointment.

Do you take groups?

We do take mixed groups in moderation, this must be discussed prior to booking, we cannot guarantee pitches together. We have the right to refuse admission if deemed unsuitable.  We reserve the right to ask you to leave if rules are broken.

Is there a Maximum size for tents?

Tents must not exceed 6m x 4m including guy ropes.

Is there a maximum size for Caravans/Motorhomes?

Maximum length 27ft   We do have some pitches which are longer, but you must pre-book these.

Do you accept Hobby caravans?

Sorry, we cannot accept these due to the door being on the right-hand side and the size of some of them.

Do you accept continental Caravans?

If you have a continental caravan with door on the right, you must inform us upon booking.

What if we have two cars?

The pitches have space for 1 car all other cars need to be parked near the reception.

Can we have visitors to the site?

You can have visitors but the must report to reception on arrival, and a small fee is payable.  All visitors must vacate site by 9.00pm.

Does the site have security?

The site owners live on site and are available 24/7. The site is covered by CCTV which records all movements 24/7.

When do we need to pay for the booking?

All bookings require a deposit payment when booking made. The remainder to be paid on arrival.

If booking online a request will be sent for remainder to be paid prior to arrival.

Please note we do not accept credit cards, but we do accept Debit cards.

What do we need to bring for the BBQ pods?

You will need to bring all your bedding either sleeping bags or quilts and pillows.

There is a kettle and electric heater provided.

You will need to bring pots, pans and cutlery along with washing up equipment.

If you don’t have these, we do have some for hire at £10 per visit.

You may wish to bring a gas stove as well rather than using the BBQ for all cooking.
